We’re big fans of APL’s Techloom running sneakers, which offer some of the best all-day wearing options from lesser-known footwear brands. For their 2016 lineup, the APL Techloom Phantom has to be our favorite of the lot, retaining the technical elements and clean looks of the line, while providing even better comfort.

Sporting a new material called 3D Stretch Techloom, the shoe’s upper boasts a four-way stretch that lets it conform to your feet like never before. As you can see, the upper comes with a prominent grid pattern, which APL claims, allows it to provide support exactly where you require, essentially adapting to the movement of your feet. It’s cut in a sleek, low silhouette.

The APL Techloom Phantom’s new upper is fused to a midsole and outsole cut in the outfit’s Propelium material, which is specifically developed for direct ground contact, ensuring it can absorb plenty of road shocks every time you hit your daily running path. Boasting the ability to maintain structural integrity longer than traditional EVA foam, the material requires less rubber on the outsole, which is responsible much of the shoe’s weight savings.

Features include an 8mm drop from the heel to the forefoot, flex grooves on the outsole designed to facilitate natural movements, and a neoprene tongue with integrated collar. It comes in a variety of colorways.

Available now, the APL Techloom Phantom is priced at $165.
