While the Micro Hawk can find plenty of survival uses in the wild, make no mistake about it: this thing was built as a defensive weapon. Combining elements of a karambit, a tomahawk, and a traditional knife, it makes for one killer blade that you can find handy both in the backwoods and around the city.
Designed by Shane Owens for Top Knives, it’s a miniature fixed blade axe that measures 6.9 inches long, making it easy to clip on a belt or slide into a bag pouch for use as part of your EDC gear. Heck, you can walk around with this thing slipped in your back pocket, making for one convenient, albeit unconventional, blade to arm yourself with.
The Top Knives Micro Hawk comes with two blade edges – a main axe edge measuring 1.95 inches and a second edge on top measuring 3.94 inches, making it pretty handy for self-defense purposes. Measuring 5/16 of an inch thick, it comes with a 1095 stainless steel construction that, Top Knives claims, is as solid as it looks, making for a substantial tool when held in hand. It weighs just 11.2 ounces, too (13 ounces with the included Black Kydex sheath), so it shouldn’t put too much heft on your EDC stash.
The handle comes covered in paracord wrap, ensuring it delivers a tight grip, whether you’re hacking through a piece of wood or swinging at an attacker in an alley. Blade comes with a black traction coating.
Available now, the Top Knives Micro Hawk is priced at $144.
