Breitling Avenger Hurricane Watch Breitling's latest flavor of the Avenger watch combines a rare 24-hour dial and a massive 50mm case made from an all-new, ultra-lightweight material.

Unlike any of Breitling previous watches, the Avenger Hurricane doesn’t come in a metal housing. Instead, it’s the outfit’s first timepiece with a case cast in a polymer material, making for quite possibly the lightest watch to bear Breitling’s unmistakably loud and unapologetic aesthetics.

Despite the lack of heft, the timepiece happens to be one of the watchmaker’s largest models, packing a full 50mm case – a significant size boost from previous releases in the Avenger line. It maintains the weight savings through the use of a new material they’re calling Breitlight, a lightweight polymer that’s reinforced with composite fibers for strength and rigidity. And, no, it doesn’t have that ugly plastic appearance, with a look and finish that’s a lot closer to carbon fiber than traditional polymer watches.

We’re guessing part of the reason why the Breitling Avenger Hurricane embraces the oversized dimensions is the dial. Instead of a traditional 12-hour watch face, it comes with a unique 24-hour dial, making for a timepiece that’s guaranteed to grab attention any time you wear it. It runs on the outfit’s new B12 chronograph movement, which boasts quarter-second, 30 minute, and 12 hour totalizers, along with a 70-hour power reserve.

Features include a 3-6-9 chronograph layout, luminescent hands and numerals, glare-proof sapphire crystal lens both front and back, and 330 feet of water resistance. It comes with an exclusive “military rubber” strap with black textile fiber on the exterior and yellow rubber on the other side.

The Breitling Avenger Hurricane is priced at $8,390.
